Achieving abstinence from food addiction is a massive step, one often completed during our signature 6-Day Residential Program, the Acorn Intensive. Maintaining abstinence from food addiction in our regular day-to-day lives can be another challenge. From shopping and cooking, to attending 12 step meetings and dealing with the emotions of life, abstinence takes practice.

The goal of the Living in Recovery program is to enable participants to take home what they practice during their stay. In this “real world” environment, participants will stay in a residential home, grocery shop at local markets, prepare their own meals following their individual, abstinent food plan, participate in 12 step meetings, have a daily practice of journaling and writing, attend daily scheduled process groups and educational talks…and have fun!

Living in Recovery is open to participants who have previously attended the 6-Day Residential Program – Acorn Intensive. If you will be attending the Acorn Intensive for the first time, it is highly recommended that you attend Living in Recovery as an add-on to the initial six days. This will extend your treatment support and ensure a smoother transition into the rigors of daily life.

The Living in Recovery program takes place a few times a year in the same residential homes as our 6-Day Residential Program, in Vancouver, BC, Canada and Bradenton, Florida, USA. The length of the program varies. Click here for the upcoming schedule of treatment programs.

Vancouver, BC

If you are flying to Vancouver, your best option is Vancouver International (YVR). As soon as you exit the airport, you will find a line-up of taxis waiting. It’s about a 30-minute ride to the site and will cost about $40.00 CAD.
